Water Painting Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Painting Class is taught by Linda Curtis, an award-winning water-media painter. She has a BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art. She teaches a watercolor painting class on Wednesdays at 1 PM in the SSII craft room. You are welcome to bring your own supplies or purchase them from the instructor. Quilt Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summerset Quilters Club has been an active club since 1998. We have members from all four Summersets. Anyone interested is welcome to join, and you don\u2019t have to be a quilter. We have members who do all types of needlework \u2013 knitting, crocheting, needlepoint \u2013 in addition to quilting. We meet every Tuesday from 10 AM until 2 PM in the craft room at the SSII Clubhouse. We exchange ideas as well as socialize. We work on our projects and also make donation quilts given to people in need. Bring lunch and join us. Once a month we go out to breakfast or lunch to celebrate that month\u2019s birthdays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Snappers (Photography)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Snappers photography group is for amateur to professional photographers. We love capturing the moment. We have meetings to discuss photography topics. We share pictures via email and post the best on our Instagram page. We also have photography field trips to beautiful and interesting local sites. The group meets on the second Thursday at 1 PM in the SSII Clubhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Songsters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a smaller group comprised of members of the SINGERS called The SONGSTERS This smaller group is our traveling team, our outreach to the community beyond the walls of Summerset. It is one of the best-kept secrets around, but this active group is available to sing for birthdays, memorials, anniversaries, for shut-ins who don\u2019t get out much anymore, individuals who are ill, and for residents of assisted living venues. If you are in need of musical entertainment please give us a call. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bocce Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bocce League is played on Saturdays starting in April. We have open play on Tuesdays for anyone interested in playing bocce.  Just show up for Tuesday\u2019s open play.  Starting times for both are at 9 AM. We ask that you arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to help get the courts ready and set up the teams. We are happy to have returning and new players join our bocce group. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Exercise Group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our exercise focuses on cardio, balance, and strength training. We meet for exercise in the Clubhouse Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM – 10 AM. We use videos of cardio workouts “Walk for Life,” by Leslie Sansone. No sign-up or registration is needed. Free Class.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brentwood Women’s Golf Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our club requires prospective members to have a current GHIN index and play to a course handicap of 44 on play days and tournaments. For further information on joining our club please visit our Club By-laws below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We offer an “Associate” membership level; a way to receive all NCGA benefits including a GHIN handicap. Associate members do not receive the full BWGC club benefits and are not eligible to play in weekly games and club tournaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are introducing a new “Social” membership in 2024. Members in this category can stay connected with the club by participating in our General Meetings and attending our social activities (e.g., Girl’s Night Out, Christmas Lunch, etc.) No NCGA benefits are included, and social members are not eligible to play in weekly games and club tournaments. Karate Class<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us for training in Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan, a classical martial art with practical self-defense applications. The martial arts are an excellent method for stretching and conditioning as well as cardiovascular training. You will learn basic hand and foot techniques, forms (a preset patterns of movement that teach students how make transitions between offensive and defensive techniques), and self-defense. There is a beginners class for those who are interested in embarking on their martial arts journey and an advanced class for those who have at least a black belt rank in a martial art. Tennis Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summerset Tennis Club membership is made up of players from all 4 Summersets. Each Summerset is represented by an officer on the board of directors. There are scheduled women’s and men’s play and drop-ins. The Tennis Club organizes several activities throughout the year. We usually have one or two tennis events\/socials with Trilogy Vineyards and Trilogy Rio Vista each year. Emails will be sent to members regarding activities and sign-ups for any tennis play at events. We have two meetings per year for the membership, a general meeting in February and an October Annual Meeting for the induction of the following year\u2019s officers. Card Bingo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We play Card Bingo on every 1st Wednesday night of the month in the Clubhouse at 7 PM. We play for 1.5 to 2 hours, with a break in the middle for potluck goodies and decaf coffee. Bring $7.00-10.00 ($7 to play your own hand, will need more if you want to play a 2nd hand if you’re on a table with only 3 people). We play 5 rounds for 50 cents and a 6th round for a dollar during each half. If you don’t know how to play, it’s easy to learn. There’s not a lot of thinking involved. Just some good camaraderie with other Summerset residents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cup o’ Java<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cup o’ Java meets every Thursday morning at 8:30. We serve coffee (regular and decaf), tea, and cocoa along with some sort of sweet treat to get your day going. We ask for $1 each week for supplies, but if you don\u2019t have it, you won\u2019t be turned away. We just want to meet old friends and make new ones. If you are new to SS II this is a good place to start meeting your new neighbors. We normally have a mixed group and the talk around the table varies week to week; sometimes it will be about things that are happening around the community, sometimes about travel or even three or four different topics at once. If there is something you\u2019re interested in, just bring it up, and start the conversation. So come out to Cup o’ Java Thursdays; we would like to meet you!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

THE Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are new to Summerset and looking for a way to meet new friends or you have lived here awhile and simply want to put on your dancing shoes and have some fun with your friends and neighbors  THE Club invites you to join us for one of the many events we hold each year.  We are a small team of Summerset 11 residents, who like you, moved to Summerset to enjoy life and meet new friends. If you like to get all dressed up to celebrate New Year’s Eve or dance to Bobby Pickett\u2019s Monster Mash or you prefer something more low-key like sitting poolside listening to some sweet jazz or playing team trivia  THE Club offers something for everyone. All of our parties are listed in the monthly Summerset 11 Newsletter and if you have an idea or suggestion for more things to do we would love to hear from you. We meet the last Wednesday of every month at 11:00 in the Summerset ll library. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We read an assigned book each month and meet in the SSII library the last Tuesday of the month at 9 AM to discuss the book. Everyone is welcome. You do not have to read the book to come to the meeting and enjoy the lively discussion. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Computer Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Computer Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 PM in the Summerset II clubhouse at 193 Summerset Drive. Meetings usually have a presentation on a subject which we publish ahead of time in the newsletter. In addition to the presentation, users can ask questions at the end of the meeting on a variety of topics that might be of interest to all members. Garden Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Garden Club has been an active club since 2004. Shea Homes helped us disassemble our very old boxes and rebuilt new ones for us in 2023. We were very happy to be gardening again! Due to space limitations we have 18 raised garden beds which are 8\u2019 x 8\u2019 square. Each box is planted, maintained and harvested only by the person assigned to that box. Everyone enjoys tomatoes and a variety of other vegetables. One gardener grew a delicious watermelon last year! We see each other often at the garden and discuss new ideas, plantings, and socialize. Formal meetings are only organized once in a while. Happy Gardening everyone!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prayer Group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Prayer Group meets at 1 PM on Mondays in the Clubhouse library. Anyone that would like to join, you\u2019re more than welcome to meet with us. You may also call me, leave a message, and we will pray for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rascals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rascals are SSII residents who volunteer their time to complete simple repairs and\/or maintenance for the community (not for individual homeowners) to help reduce the Association\u2019s costs. Any Summerset II member can become a Rascal. Some of the projects we undertake are painting curbs\/gates, weed abatement, small repairs, helping with Christmas decorations, etc. All levels of expertise are welcome. If you want more information please come to the crafts room at the clubhouse on the first Thursday of the month at 4 pm to see what our group does for the community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We are so pleased to see new veterans, spouses, and widows\/widowers at the general meetings. You are all welcome to join us at our monthly scheduled meetings on the first Thursday at 1 p.m. The board meets after the general meeting (if required). Please note: Our meetings rotate between Summerset I, II, III, and IV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Widows & Widowers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you been widowed? Are you finding it hard to cope? Have you been able to create a new life for yourself? It helps to discuss and learn how others have met new challenges. Loss and change are difficult but not unmanageable. Come to our grief widow\/widower support group and meet others who are experiencing similar challenges. We meet every Thursday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 500 Fairview, Brentwood, from 5 PM to 6:15 PM. Meetings are open to all. A monthly potluck dinner and happy hour (emphasis on fellowship) are also available. For information, please call me. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
